ALERT: LATEST DEVELOPMENTS MIDDLE-EAST
Following the attacks that were executed by the Hamas on 7 October 2023 on Israel, the situation in the Middle-Eastern region has escalated. A former leader of the Hamas has called upon the Muslim world to protest on Friday 13 October 2023 in support of the Palestinians and to escalate the response to Israel by calling on neighboring countries to join the fight. Furthermore, a potential threat is created by the call for a global Jihad by certain Muslim leaders. Moreover, Muslims are encouraged by any means – this could also include financial support – to contribute to the fight against Israel.
FIU-Aruba urges service providers to be alert and vigilant of potential unusual money flows to the countries in the Middle-Eastern region and/or NGO’s and charities providing humanitarian aid to this region.
